Edging God Out

I have been reading a book by an author i will name later. But she was writing about having temptations in our lives and actually choosing the temptation. My readers know I love acronyms and my acronym for sin is that it is a "Sickness In Nature." She has a different but similar slant. She mentions when we choose sin we are feeding our ego by "Edging God Out."
Can you relate to that?
In James 1:13-15 its states:
13When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. 15Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
We all sin and fall short. It comes with having human DNA. However we have a choice. When you stumble turn in your bible and pray I John 1:9-I John 2:2. Our Father is a wonderful forgiving Father! He will not edge you out!
