ASK; Ask, Seek, Knock
Once again you get to see me work with acronyms. This isn't original with me but I heard a man say that "ASK" means to Ask, Seek, and Knock. He based this off of Matthew 7:7-8 " Keep on asking and you will receive what you ask for, keep on seeking and you will find. Keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you." 8) For everyone who asks receives, everyone who seeks finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened." Have you ever experienced asking seeking, knocking and NOT receiving your answer? Well, God is not a liar but I have. I have found that persistence is the huge key to this verse. Another perspective I want us to consider is that I have also found that the right answer I seek is very much dependent upon me asking the right question. Often times I'm quick to ask, seek , knock before I have fully thought out what it is I'm "TRULY" seeking for. I need to better define my question so that i can receive the very thing I'm truly looking for. When consulting I have heard people say that they "don't know what it is they are looking for but will know it when they see it" (bologne!) Perhaps persistence in asking the right question will define what they are seeking and what door they really need to knock on.
Howard's Helpful Hint: Centered people place just as much importance on the question as they do the answer.
