Walking in His Presence
This year I had set my face to be more focused on God and his plan; not just my own. I have spoken with several people who agreed with me that its hard to walk in his presence and fellowship when our minds are focused on entertainment or have a lack of focus that allows anything and everything to come into our minds unfiltered. PS 89:15 states, " Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, OLord." For me to have the success I'm looking for this year in my walk with the Lord, I had to make some decisions that were hard for me. For instance I removed all secular music from my IPOD. When I inquired of the Lord about my daily love for secular music and then turning it off and turning on the "praise" music switch; the Lord showed me James 3:11, "Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?" So for me it can't. I'm not under the "law." I don't think God hates secular music or those who sing it. But when I read in Revelations whats happening around the throne of God in his presence; it doesn't seem to be salt water. It's fresh praise. Has God asked you to do something similar that requires a different direction and or passion that's different than what you are used to? I may not be able to accomplish what God wants me to accomplish if I keep walking the same way that I always have. If I desire something different then God will require me to do something different. I'm excited to see where this path takes me.
